Meet the Democrat Who Will DEfeat David Schweikert
As an immigrant from Ireland, I moved to what is now AZ01 when I was just 4 years old; my wife, Tina, and her family fled Iran during that country’s revolution when she was only 2. This country, and in my case this district, allowed both of our families to seek and achieve the American Dream. This is why I have been a lifelong Democrat with deeply held progressive values: we are the party of opportunity and the ones who can reclaim the American Dream and deliver it for future generations. My deep-seated reverence for American democracy fuels my commitment to serve the people of AZ01 in Congress.

As a devoted family man and a father to children of mixed race, I've witnessed the evolving diversity of America alongside the troubling rise of extremism and intolerance. The challenges are numerous, from climate change to gun violence to the ongoing threats to reproductive rights; the fact that the routine D&E procedure my wife had after a sudden miscarriage would now be considered illegal in some states is unconscionable and weighs heavily on my mind.

Motivated by my family’s personal experiences, I am running for Congress to secure a brighter future for all families in our district. With a lineage rooted in public service, including a grandfather who served as a United Nations general and a father who helped veterans and the medically underserved (and who served as a state commissioner under Governor Rose Mofford), I will bring a fresh and informed perspective to Congress.
Unlike David Schweikert, a MAGA extremist who obstructs common-sense solutions, I aim to change the trajectory of AZ01 for the better. With deep family ties to the community and children in public school, I am uniquely positioned to collaborate effectively with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike, without compromising my values. I can build the coalitions it will take to actually WIN in November.
